Dear Starfish Families:                                                                                                                                                             April 28, 2021

Although we are encouraged by the decline in positive COVID-19 numbers in the state of Michigan and Wayne county, they have not fallen enough for us to comfortably make the decision to restart in-person programming. Therefore, we are extending virtual programming through May 7, 2021. We are tentatively planning for in-person programming to resume on Monday, May 10, 2021.

Here is the breakdown for Early Childhood programming:

  •  There will be virtual instruction only through Friday, May 7, 2021.

  • Based on the COVID-19 data, we are tentatively planning to return to face-to-face instruction, May 10, 2021.  We will continue to review the status of the COVID-19 data and make decisions accordingly.

  • Families currently receiving food distributions will continue to pick up food at their centers on Fridays.

As a reminder regarding masks:

  • When Starfish Centers are reopened, children ages 2 and older will be required to wear a mask inside the classroom, hallways, and outdoor areas.

  • Every effort is to be made to ensure the children wear their masks in both indoor and outdoor settings.

  • Staff will continue wearing masks. There is no change to this mandate.

Help us keep your family and our family safe during this pandemic, by following the CDC guidance: www.cdc.gov/coronavirus
